PROOF OF CONCEPT

The first step in building a new system is establishing the high-level system architecture and whether it will meet a customer’s needs. It is best to clarify these before making a major financial commitment through a limited scope implementation. We prefer to take this approach as architecture and designs based purely on theory or technical documentation may never work in practice. There are practicalities to every technology roll-out and each customer’s environment is unique in some way. We work cooperatively with IT departments to ensure their guidelines are met and they are happy with this process. New technologies and systems can be demonstrated in your environment, allowing projects to get underway without affecting the running of the business.

INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECTURE

Infrastructure Architecture is an evolutionary process, and a clear infrastructure layout is needed before embarking on an implementation. However infrastructure architecture also needs to continue to evolve to reflect incremental improvements, changes in requirements and cope with new system integrations. We will provide detailed infrastructure diagrams and specifications from the outset, but will continue to reflect the evolution of the infrastructure as a project works towards completion and the system is refined. SOLUTION DESIGN

The overall layout of your infrastructure is important, but there are other system configuration details, code and operational processes that need recording. Our solution design documentation ensures the right level of detail is captured so they fully reflect the system but do not overwhelm with detail. This enables our customers to clearly see what they are getting from us and also allows proper support of their systems into the future. Where necessary we will reverse-engineer information from existing systems and document system integrations between new components and existing systems. This can be a daunting exercise especially for single-technology focused teams. With our multi-technology knowledge we are able to complete these exercises to a high standard and tackle the complexity and quality issues of corporate IT systems.
